From time to time we all need some motivation, a reminder of why we do what we do… About a decade ago, a Canadian prodigy preached to the world about the importance of never saying never — yeah, you know the song. I propose an amendment to this gospel, to accept “never give up.”
Often we find ourselves doubting ourselves, thinking it was not meant to be, cutting our losses, and giving up. And sometimes that is ok! Sometimes the wise thing to do is indeed to know when to stop and move on. But I believe that most times success is but one last try away.
Sure, it is easier said than done. I do not argue that, at all. I do however firmly stand by my conviction that most impossible things are actually possible. Difficult yes, and perhaps not probable, but definitely possible. The rest depends on you.
Success stems directly from your ability to fail and try again. Success is a matter of what you are willing to do (and cease to do) to accomplish it. Success is less about skill and more about character. The question then becomes: Is your success worth the sacrifice?
With this in mind I leave you with a quote from a man whose wisdom echos across the centuries: “Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty… I have never in my life envied a human being who led an easy life. I have envied a great many people who led difficult lives and led them well.” -Theodore Roosevelt
